About the S.T.A.R. Project
The S.T.A.R. Project is a research treatment study brought to you by The Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA) at The University of Pennsylvania and Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR). It is a specialized counseling program that can help you deal with problems you may have from being raped or sexually abused.
If you are a girl ages 13-18 who suffers from problems related to your sexual abuse, our new counseling program may be helpful to you. All counseling services are provided at no cost.
S.T.A.R. Project participants participate in one of two kinds of counseling; cognitive behavioral or client-centered therapy. Both types of counseling have been found to be effective in helping to reduce problems related to having been raped or sexually abused. Counseling includes up to 17 weekly individual counseling sessions that last for 60-90 minutes.
The S.T.A.R. Project is a counseling program for 13-18 girls in the Philadelphia area who are experiencing problems related to having been raped or sexually abused.
